I won a $1,500 Career Opportunity Grant from the Oregon Arts Commission to assist in the completion of my installation Shadow Effects. Excited and honored to have received the grant, which will ensure that the current scope of my project is maintained. Can't wait to begin shopping for materials! The grant eases my stress levels because I can now focus on just making the work. Shadow Effects will be exhibited at the Pearson Lakes Art Center in northwest Iowa from October 13-December 31, 2011. It will later show at the Douglas County Museum of Natural and Cultural History in Roseburg, OR in February-March 2012; and Rogue Art Gallery in Medford, OR in July 2012.
